Changing urban skylines with boron wood treatment in CLT buildings

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is increasingly viewed as a viable, sustainable alternative to steel and concrete in construction. U.S. Borax is helping researchers improve CLT’s resistance to fire, moisture, and insect damage to meet international building codes.

How boron enhances ramming mass for metal manufacturing

Induction furnaces are gaining ground in the metals industry due to their energy efficiency and lower emissions. Learn how boron in ramming mass formulations strengthens linings, extends furnace life, and supports continuous, reliable production.

Anhydrous borates in glassmaking

In various borosilicate glassmaking, anhydrous borates (boron species without crystal water) such as Dehybor bring multifaceted benefits of value-in-use (VIU). One of the most intuitive benefits is reducing glass manufacturers’ energy use.

Value in use of anhydrous boron in glass

Anhydrous boron is a more concentrated form of boron—containing 1.4 times more B2O3. The additional value that anhydrous products bring goes beyond the concentration difference of B2O3.
